Many people like to head off back to their hotels for a nap or a swim during the hottest part of the day- returning later to enjoy evening parades and fireworks.

Magic Kingdom Parking Tips
All-day parking is available at $8.00 for visitors and free to Walt Disney World Resort guests with proper resort ID.
The parking lots are VAST be sure to take note of where you are parked. Each section has a character name (Goofie, Snow White etc) when you return to the parking lot tired and ready for home you need to know where your car is.
80% of cars at Walt Disney World will be rentals and they all look the same! Put something distinctive (but not valuable) where you can see it to make your car unique
If you leave the parking lot and plan to return to Magic Kingdom (or a different park if you have a hopper ticket) keep your parking ticket. You don't need to pay again. Your parking ticket is good throughout the day anywhere in Walt Disney World.
European visitors with an EC handicapped parking badge please be sure to bring it wit you, The EC scheme is respected throughout Disney World, giving you the same parking privileges as US handicapped visitors.
